Ensure your Tattoo Heals Perfectly
I recommend that you leave your bandage on for 4-24 hours. DO NOT RE-BANDAGE YOUR TATTOO.
Wash your hands well, and carefully remove the bandage.
Wash your tattoo gently with fragrance-free liquid soap. I recommend using Dial antibacterial soap.
Froth the soap in your hands before applying it to your fresh tattoo.
Gently wash your tattoo to remove any ointment, plasma, and dried blood.
gently wash away soap with water, and let your tattoo air dry.
The lotion I recommend is Lubriderm Daily Moisture.
Lotion your tattoo twice a day, or whenever the tattoo is feeling itchy and overly dry.
Do not apply ointment while the tattoo is still wet.
Do not use any Aquaphor products on your tattoo.
You do not need to wash your tattoo every day. Once every few days is fine.
If you have been in an unsanitary environment (dusty, sandy, or sweaty) you may wash your tattoo after.
Continue to lotion your tattoo for two weeks minimum.
Your tattoo will scab and flake, avoid picking your fresh tattoo.
Picking at your tattoo can cause fading, and increase the chance of infection. If your tattoo itches, pat it gently.
Avoid exposing your new tattoo to the sun.
avoid wearing tight clothes over your fresh tattoo.
Avoid submerging/soaking your tattoo.
No swimming or taking baths. No hot springs. Showers are fine.
Avoid letting anyone touch your new tattoo until it’s fully healed.
Keep your new tattoo away from any pets/animals/weird/creepy people.
Your tattoo should be fully healed in three weeks to a month.
Wear sunscreen when you go outside, and keep the tattoo hidden or protected.
I recommend applying SPF 50-100 to all of your tattoos. Spray-on sunscreen works best.
Minimal care (sunscreen) will keep your tattoos vibrate for the rest of your life.
